2020 UNE EARLY ENTRY APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN

Isabella Post - UNE Direct Early Entry Student

UNE Early Entry

Get into uni ahead of the pack

UNE Early Entry is open to all year 12 applicants, whether or not you’re expecting to receive an ATAR or OP score and relies on your school’s assessment of your attributes and abilities to determine your suitability for entry. The assessment is based around your ability to work and learn independently, as well as your overall potential for academic success at UNE.

Benefits of UNE Early Entry

  • Apply directly to UNE
  • No application fees
  • Relieve the pressure of waiting for results by knowing early (November*) that you have a place at UNE.
  • No UAC / QTAC applications required
  • Applying through UNE Early Entry does not prevent you from making another application through a Tertiary Admissions Centre so it’s a great way to increase your chances of getting into the course you want.
*Indicative timing
Remember, you can still apply to UAC and QTAC in the normal way.

Living on campus

Choosing to live in one of UNE’s residential colleges not only saves you money, it puts you in the ideal position to enjoy the living and learning experience to the fullest. Both socially and academically, you are right at the heart of the action.
Each college has its own distinct character and all of them welcome students into friendly, inclusive and supportive communities.

Why live on campus?

There are some great reasons to live on campus when you study with UNE:

  • It’s cheaper to live on campus than it is to rent in town (when you consider all of the extra costs).
  • Live on campus and all of your utility bills are taken care of – that includes free, unlimited Wi-Fi and all of your heating.
  • Choose to look after your own food or opt for one of our catered options.
  • Academic and social support are right there to help you reach your potential.
  • Convenient location to the academic campus, sporting and social activities.
  • ACER Research has demonstrated that students who chose to live on-campus perform better academically, adjust to University life better and are far more likely to complete their University studies successfully.
  • Participate in Residential Wellness Week - the first week in Trimester 1. This week is designed to ease the transition into university life for on-campus students staying in a residential college.

Scholarships

It’s easier than you think to get extra financial help to pay for the cost of university. Unlike the government help that you have to repay when you start earning, a UNE scholarship never has to be repaid. UNE Scholarships are open for all to apply – and doesn’t cost you anything.

Not all scholarships are about how well you did at school, there are UNE Scholarships that recognise students who:

  • come from rural areas
  • study specific degrees
  • are in disadvantaged groups
  • excel in sport
  • plan to live in a UNE college
  • have high academic achievement
There are numerous scholarships on offer each year and most scholarship applications close at the end of September.
