You will study environmental issues with experienced biologists, ecologists and environmental managers. This degree provides graduates with an understanding of the building blocks of our environment and their interactions, providing them with the key scientific knowledge and skills required by employers. Majors available include Conservation Ecology, Envirobusiness, Natural Resources Management, Remediation and Restoration, and a General Program.
This innovative degree provides the opportunity to study a geology degree that incorporates the fundamental core principals of geology coupled with teaching of modern GIS/geospatial geology specific maps and mapping techniques. This course includes topics such as field geology, resource geology and environmental issues, optical mineralogy and igneous petrology, ore deposit geology, exploration and environmental geochemistry, structural and metamorphic geology, field mapping and sedimentology, palaeontology and stratigraphy, applied geophysics, among others.
The Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science is designed as a professional development course in areas relevant to natural resources and environmental management. The flexibility of the program gives students the opportunity to gain a broad skill set in environmental science or to develop their professional knowledge and management skills in a chosen area of study.
This degree is a coursework and research-based program designed to equip environmental scientists with specialist or multi-disciplinary professional knowledge in conceptual, scientific and field and laboratory technical competencies related to environmental science and natural resources management. The program is particularly valuable for candidates who are currently employed as resources managers and wish to upgrade their qualifications for either professional or academic reasons.
The Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Planning and Management of Natural Hazards take a multidisciplinary approach to looking at natural hazards and how society can build resilience in the face of natural hazards. You will build from a broad knowledge of natural hazard situations towards questions of policy development in the field of hazard mitigation. The courses cover the following topic areas:
