Forensic science, in its broadest definition, is used to support the criminal justice system. In practice, forensic science involves the application of scientific techniques to the investigation of crime. Forensic science is a major offered within the Bachelor of Science through which you will gain an understanding of a broad range of scientific principles that form the basis of techniques used in forensic analysis, and acquire the laboratory skills needed to conduct these analyses. Students are introduced to a number of practices associated with forensic science, such as the presentation of scientific evidence in court, the importance of record keeping and chain of custody.
