UNE School of Law
Since its establishment in 1993, the School of Law at the University of New England has developed an important position in Australia's legal and scholarly community. As the country's largest and most experienced online provider of legal education with world standard research, the School of Law provides opportunities to undertake Australian legal studies for people living anywhere on the continent and beyond, who might otherwise lack these opportunities.
Bachelor of Laws (3 Years)
The Bachelor of Laws (3 Years) is available to Year 12 applicants with an ATAR or equivalent of at least 90.00, or anyone who has completed a Diploma or above qualification with sufficient grades. Assumed knowledge is any two units of English. Year 12 applicants who completed prior to 2015 may apply as well as applicants who have undertaken a Diploma or above qualification with sufficient grades. Please note that Regional Bonus Points do not apply to this course.
Bachelor of Laws (4 Years)
Bachelor of Laws (4 Years) is designed for people who are new to university study or to the study of law, including people who want to change careers or get a qualification. For the first year of this degree, you will undertake elective units from any other areas within the university, such as languages, physics, business, communications, statistics, history, biomedical science, media studies, psychology, accounting...the list goes on! This first year will prepare you for the study of law, as well as give you the opportunity to expand your academic horizons.
Graduate Certificate in NDIS Business Development
Graduate Certificate in NDIS Business Development has been designed to enhance students understanding and appreciation of the issues affecting the disability sector. As such it offers study of both legal and business frameworks that impact upon organisational operations that may affect the optimum delivery of client focused services. At the end of the program of study students will have a sound grasp of the legislative frameworks underpinning the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
The qualification will allow existing managers, and those seeking managerial level employment within disability organisations to further their knowledge of legal processes and obligations relevant to organisational business development priorities in the NDIS.
Diploma in Prosecution and Advocacy
Our Diploma in Prosecution and Advocacy has been developed for people who need skills in prosecution and advocacy in their work. Students will develop the necessary skills to make representations to plead a case, to argue and persuade on behalf of a client or organisation.
Criminology
Criminology is the study of crime, violence, crime control, crime policy and prevention. A criminologist looks at the reasons for crime and why it is committed, and what effect crime has, both on individuals and society as a whole.
Within the Bachelor of Criminology you will study criminal law, criminology, forensic science, forensic psychology, policing, penology and the sociology of deviance and victimology.
Criminology/Law
A double degree in Criminology and Law provides you with the flexibility to either pursue a purely legal career as a practitioner or to build a successful career in criminology, drawing on legal skills and knowledge.
